Who We Are

Hello!

We started with a question most organisations can't answer.

Who on your team could do a job they've never held before?

Not who has the right title. Not who ticked a box on a skills survey. Who actually has the capability — buried in stories they've never been asked to tell?

That question haunted us. Because after more than two decades working inside large organisations, we'd seen the same pattern everywhere: companies making million-dollar decisions about their people based on job titles, outdated CVs, and gut feel. Meanwhile, the people themselves — smart, capable, full of potential — couldn't articulate half of what they bring. Not because they lack self-awareness, but because nobody had ever asked them the right questions.

CapabilityOS exists to change that.

Our Story

Our vision

A world where no one's potential goes unseen.

Where organisations don't just know what jobs people hold — they understand the full depth of what their people can do. Where career paths aren't limited by titles or assumptions. Where the question "who could do this?" finally has a real answer.

We're starting in Australia. We're building for the world.

What we believe

Everyone carries more capability than they realise. Most people can only see a fraction of what they bring. We want to change that — for individuals and for the organisations that depend on them.

The input problem is the real problem. The workforce intelligence market is full of platforms that analyse, visualise, and recommend. But they're all working with bad data — self-reported skills that are incomplete at best and fiction at worst. We're solving it at the source.

Discovery should feel like a gift, not an obligation. If understanding your own potential feels like filling out a form, something has gone wrong. Our conversations are designed to be something people actually want to do — and the results are something they're proud to share.

This matters more now than ever. AI is reshaping what work looks like. The organisations that thrive won't be the ones with the best org charts — they'll be the ones who truly understand what their people are capable of, and can redeploy that talent as roles evolve.

Our Team

Alex Young

Co-Founder & CEO

Alex has spent 20+ years building digital products across startups and some of Australia's largest organisations — Nokia, Telstra, Medibank, and Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, where he currently leads Innovation and AI. He was an early employee at Oculo, a health-tech startup acquired for $18.5 million.

But the thread that runs through all of it isn't technology. It's people.

Over a decade of mentoring founders through RMIT and accelerator programs, Alex kept noticing the same thing: people consistently undervalue their own capabilities. They describe themselves through job titles and responsibilities when what makes them extraordinary is something much harder to see — the way they think through problems, bring others along, stay calm when everything's falling apart.

Alex calls it capability translation — seeing potential that people can't yet articulate and making it visible. CapabilityOS is that instinct, turned into a platform.

Co-Founder & CTO

Shri Malisetty

Shri is a Senior Full Stack Engineer who brings the technical craft to make the vision real. With deep experience across modern web technologies and AI integration, Shri has built CapabilityOS from the ground up — from conversational AI engine to capability analysis pipeline.

Where Alex sees the human problem, Shri sees the architecture that solves it. Together, they've built something neither could have alone: a system that conducts genuine, adaptive conversations with people and surfaces insights that traditional tools completely miss.
